 U.S. Mail, etc.

For now,  the U.S. Mail is our friend.

At the end of the day we take the outgoing mail to the regional mail sorting center.  Fortunately the center is on the way home.  This allows us to deposit mail as late as 9pm that will be processed and routed for delivery in the surrounding region on the following business day.

We get occasional calls from referring veterinarians asking how we managed to get the mail to them so quickly.

We prefer sending a referral report to the veterinarians by mail rather than e-mail or by FAX.  We assume that they like the high quality copy and the ability to file it in the patient record.  If the referring clinics become highly computerized, perhaps we will e-mail the reports in the future.
