 Cleaning inside computers

Have you ever looked inside of a computer after a few months or a year of service?  If your computers are on the floor like ours (most are), the amount of dog and cat hair and dander that accumulates inside is amazing.

Older computer sucked air through the front or the floppy drive and exhausted out the back through the power supply fan.  The newer computers (with ATX cases) normally push air from the power supply fan out through the front or side and the floppy drive.

About twice a year, we take the top and side off our computers and vacuum the dog and cat hair dust bunnies out and check the CPU cooling fan and heat sink for clogging. We heard a rumor that Compaq Computer will not provide warranty coverage for their computers in a veterinary clinic environment.  Even if this is untrue, it makes you think.
